KUALA LUMPUR, March 7 (Bernama) -- Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has allocated RM3.35 million for its corporate social responsibility (CSR) project under the TH Baiti Project about two years ago.

TH chief operating officer Datuk Kamarudin Mat Ali said the allocation involved the building of 70 new houses, repairing 21 houses and a mosque at seven states in the country. The states are Pahang, Johor, Perak, Selangor, Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah.

Kamarudin said a total of RM132,500 was also spent for the construction of two new houses and repairing another. He said this after a ceremony depicting the symbolic presentation of house keys to three recipients in Gombak today.

A recipient, Rozaian Mohd Ali said he was grateful to Tabung Haji which enabled him and his family to own a house. "I was living in an ancestral house. Fortunately, a friend told me about the Baiti project. With the newly-built home, I and my three children are now able to live comfortably," he added. - BERNAMA
